This wasn't the first ever film to be made about gangs but its the closest ever made to what I am trying to make the reason I find boyz n the hood interesting is because its about the gang lifestyle and it involves being apart of that lifestyle were your constantly running from trouble , I just like the way the movie has been structured , it really tackles on going problems happening in this society . This was released in 1991 so therefore it was the film on the 90s it has aspects in it that I really love for example the movie really quotes " every man for themselves " , I just like the way they use emotive language to tell a story , and how they replicate people who are actually in gangs. In terms of technically I like the way they have used panning  and tracking and close up shots when needed , so the audience gets a feel of emotion .

The reason this is interesting is because it shows the consequences and future prospects of being in gang and that's exactly what I want to portray in my film .  Another reason I find this film quite interesting is because , in this film a female comes in shows one of the gang members about faith ( meaning religion) , this what mine is about but instead of showing he is already in faith but struggles to keep it because he is drawn into the gang lifestyle and at the end he is forced to chose between being a man of God or a member of a gang. In Boyz n the hood he wants to listen to his girlfriend speak about faith but his friends who are Ice cube and Morris chestnut aren't as interested in faith and they get drawn into drug dealing and the gang culture , that's another reason why I love this film is because it goes into depth about how easily you can get sucked into the gang lifestyle and you end up choosing the wrong routine .

In comparison to this century film relating to gang violence is called Amani , In my opinion I believe this is where short film went to a whole other level including other short films such as shiro story 3 , with that one it was a combination / fusion between music and story telling , In this particular century they are quite advanced with technology so therefore the storyline and everything was further adapted .

 

I wouldn't say that there was a period of time were short films were particularly that interesting I believe when the Titanic came out in 1998 it really changed the film game because till this day the film is still highly spoken out because the budget for the film was 200 million USD which was one of the biggest budgets in film history . Over time and as history went on the movie developed and when it was released it made a huge impact on people because of the hug reaction it received . By creating a short film like Amani it got around about 1.6 M views on a platform called Million youth media , were it really targeted knife crime how someone could be a ordinary person but their life could be over just like that by being stabbed multiple times . This particular product targets many people that face struggles in life for example gang violence and knife crime , this particular shows a storyline how your life could change within seconds , the reason I really like this particular short film is because its the closest to what I actually want to produce for my final product it involves , establishing shots panning close up , continuity which I particular enjoy about it . This particular product took people by surprise because its a addressing a major problem that is on going , people create this image that you have to be n " ROAD " the definition of that is that you have to act a certain way to fit in , the way people retaliate to that is they stab , which could cause life threatening wounds. This short film builds up that certain stereotype  that " black males " are the ones that induce knife crime and encourage others to carry knives for protection , this is what this short film is based around " protection ".    

This was just one of the many short films that I believe was the most significant because it was fusion between music and story telling , the first ever shiro story to come out was about 11 months ago , I think this music video is more like a short film because it incorporates story telling and acting , this particular shiros story , addressing gangs and unions and also what being in trouble get you in this case , the main character lost his daughters life she got shot because of her father actions and it resulted in death , I think this really caught the audience by surprise because it created suspense , the audience wasn't expecting her to be caught in the cross fire , it took 00
