This fake knife will play a huge role in what I am trying to portray because , it will be used at the end of very important scene I want it to symbolise fear in the short film , I want it to represent what being in a gang can drive you to , carrying a knife can impact your life dramatically . The use of the iPhone is make phone calls in the short film between both characters .

In terms of my research I was finding things that would help me develop my understanding about my final project because at first I didn't know exactly what I was going to do because I was really struggling to come up with ideas in terms of it being a music video or short film , in the end I decided to do a short film but I couldn't just throw myself in the deep end without any research or planning towards it so I made sure I was fully equipped with what a short film is and what exactly my short film was going to be about , so I really had to brainstorm ideas but I definitely had to take the theme into consideration which was fellowship so I really had to build in terms of what fellowship was and all the possible storylines that came with it . So I really wanted to build around this idea of fellowship because it was the theme that really stuck in my brain . I made a production schedule , I planned a head for example I made a production schedule but then I lost that production schedule I didn't  no know what to write my reflections about or what I had done on the day which was a huge issue because when it came to writing my reflections I had to think about it from the top of my head , but in terms of production I believe it went really well because my filming was done in a space of 5 hours , I had a few problems with my script because the final product isn't done exactly how its said in the script because I wanted my short film to purely be based off of improvisation because I wanted that aspect of realism . In terms of production like finding my different locations were very hard because I didn't know whether I was actually allowed to be able to film there in the first because of rules and regulations I had to follow but I finally found a location that matched the concept of my film which happened to be two different locations...

When I was writing the script for my short film Life Behind the mask I was honestly struggling because screenplay isn't really one of my strong points because before attempting to write this one I only had written one script prior to this one , so therefore my knowledge for screenplay was quite limited , I didn't know how to write a proper script I didn't know how to write the setting or the action or even indicate that a character was speaking I couldn't remember exactly what had to be written in capital letters , it was really hard for me because this was the first ever real script I had written so I wanted to make sure everything was perfect in terms of dialogue , setting , time , characters and action , but to be honest it really took me a while to finish writing an entire script based on just a rough idea . Despite having such little experience writing scripts I still managed to write a full draft script so I could show my teacher and he could make any adjustments ...

Pro - Using a knife in my short film would be very effective and more believable to the audience that an actual weapon is being used , its more convincing if a knife is being used and plus it doesn't have to be an actual knife it could be an actual prop something that looks realistic enough for the audience to believe , with the knife actually being there it would make it more realistic for the actors to actually bring that particular scene to life , because the knife is actually there so it brings the scene to full effect If we use a prop knife there wouldn't be any physical contact made because it would simply be a prop but it would appear to the audience as a real knife. Con - Using a knife as prop could be classified to some people as very dangerous because when filming it could draw a lot of attention , which could result in being the police and the public thinking there is an actual altercation happening , which could possibly get me into serious trouble , because its...

Synopsis / Concept I am going to be creating a short film about a young black man who is finding it hard to keep his faith and stay close to his family , he lives this double life where by morning he is guided by his faith and by night he is corrupted and influenced by this " gang lifestyle " he lets the pressure from his so called friends who are also part of this inner circle gang , its that type of gang that once you are in you can never leave. hence why my short film is called  " Life behind the mask " , because he is practically living a double life pretending to be something he is not .
