Contextual research - what encourages gang violence and knife crime
What encourages Gang violence / knife crime ? - Gang violence and knife crime are caused by young people’s social background factors in association with individual risk factors which result from poverty, deprivation and associated social problems , gang violence is defiantly a social actions some people are forced into the gang lifestyle or some are just born into it , its an on going problem around the world , because of how much people want to be apart of something so negative , something that could lead you to kill other people . They are trying to identify whether gang violence is caused by social background . My short film is also based on stereotypes , people say and I quote "its a never ending fear for a black to be stopped and searched " just because of the colour of their skin . black people are at a higher rate than white people for being stopped , or pulled over its not even routine.
Gangs are quite common in east London .
The films that have inspired me to do a short film like this are called Amani , Drawn out and shiro story 3 all in which have a similar concept involved within the storyline such as they have the same actor in all three of them. With these particular films they all include the theme fellowship , which is the theme I strive to portray in my short film .In terms of historical researching I will be sourcing my research from recent articles and newspapers which mainly talk about knife crime and gang violence , but also religion and how faith plays a huge whole in peoples life around 34% of the uk population allow their faith or religion cloud their judgement or things they do . On article written was from the guardian written about gang symbols , and gangs and society in general it many covers things that have happened quite abruptly , they were saying gang violence is an on going . All this research is helping me develop my idea because it includes a lot of facts and statistics which are of value to what I am trying to make for example if I conduct a lot of research to do with the main topic of my short film which is gang violence I would be able to make quit e a similar project to what I am researching . In terms of what I want to be producing I have to conduct a lot of detail research to achieve such a huge goal , I need to find out about gang violence what this is the stereotype to be classed as being in a gang .
