Refelction - Proposal ( 5th march )
My proposal was based of what I could think of , off the top of head it was kind of a brief idea revolved around gang violence , it was based off the theme I had chosen which was fellowship , I think when I generally started to write the proposal I had a rough idea how I was going to develop the proposal but when I was writing it , I was struggling to come up with a strong idea , but the proposal was based off what I believe deserves a lot more awareness than its getting , I knew exactly what I what my short film was going to be about , but in terms of writing my proposal I found it really easy and the format was structured really well .
I based my proposal off what I was good at for example I was good at making TV adverts because it was the type of media I was interested in which is film television , I definitely wanted to base my proposal off stereotypes and people that you would associate with gang violence and knife crime . The proposal was purely based off what I thought I was going to be doing at the time , because I really thought I should step outside my comfort zone and do something I haven't done before ,it was better to take risks than play it safe . The proposal was one of the first things we had done for the beginning of my final project so it was really like a draft , it was just on what I believe I could achieve with the equipment I was given . For my proposal I drew inspiration from various sources such as the YouTube channel Million youth media , they gave me the inspiration to write an actually proposal based on my short film.
My theme radical thinking played a huge part in me writing my proposal because it made me think about what I am going to be writing my proposal about , like I said previously I really struggled in coming up with at least a general synopsis of my work , which was a huge thing for me because I wanted to have a t least one clear idea so I could then adapt it along the way , but eventually I came up with The life behind the mask which is about gang violence and knife crime , it about a huge boy who was once in a gang but then comes back three years to a young offenders youth centre , where he tells his story about how he got stabbed . Obviously making a short film is a huge deal so I had to really consider everything from storyline to equipment , in terms of equipment I was quite hesitate to think about using because some of the equipment for example a LED light I had never used before and I made that decision to use a microphone over using the camera audio because with a short film everything has to be done to perfection and everything has to be to be done to perfection .
In conclusion my proposal went to plan , I had everything in order and in preparation to make a really good short film , I made a mini equipment list which will defiantly very handful for when I start to film and when I create a proper equipment list . In order for my proposal to match my final project I would have to make sure everything goes smoothly in terms of my production work and the actual quality of work has to be good otherwise , my proposal would of been written for no reason , I have to make sure I stick to all the facts written in my proposal .
