Reflection - Recording scenes again ( 7&8 may )

This was a particular time that was quite stressful for me because I had to record particular scenes again which I didn't want to but I lost very important footage I either didn't export it properly or I wasn't actually recording and I just thought it had been recorded , but that was my fault as a director and producer I should of checked whether it was recording properly , another thing that happened that I really felt like giving up because , I attached the microphone to the camera but it was my job to make sure it was even know otherwise it wasn't on then the footage has no audio , this was the thing that I was disappointed with myself because like I said previously it was my job as the director of the short film that the microphone was on , but the thing is that was the best take we did on the day , and I did realise till the second week of editing that there was no audio to go alongside the audio . So it was my job to talk to all my actors about filming for another time on the same day hence why it took 4 to 6 hours to film a 5 minute short film , because of the amount of takes I had to because of the same common mistakes I kept making , but that particular experience is something I could learn from because I can prevent it from happening in the future , and the fact that I should remember to always watch over the footage to make sure that , if there is something wrong  with the footage I would be able to notice it straight away , instead of me stressing about later on but luckily I noticed it not to close to the deadline because then I wouldn't have a short film . The only thing that was upsetting is the takes wasn't as good as the footage that I lost because when we decided to record again it started to rain so it was difficult so me to hold the camera and prevent it from getting wet , so in some places the camera is quite shaky because we did film in quite cold and rainy weather , but overall I wasn't too happy about having to record my footage again but for continuity it was good that I recorded It again because I had extra scenes to use in terms of if I had to replace a particular part for example if the umbrella caught in frame I could easily take that small section and use the other that was recorded afterwards .
